Set up an under construction page on your website in SiteBuilder

Are you still building your SiteBuilder website but want to show that your new website is on the way? Or do you want to block access to pages that are not yet finished?
Then an “under construction” page is a great idea. In this guide, we explain how to launch it.

Put your entire website “under construction”

  • Turn your homepage into an “under construction” page, remove subpages, and publish.
  • Now get started on creating your real website, but wait to publish until everything is ready.
  • This way, visitors to your website won’t see a half-finished site.

Tip: Have you already finished some pages? Make a backup before deleting all pages to avoid losing your hard work.

Hide unfinished pages from visitors

To hide individual pages from your visitors, follow these steps:

  • Go to Pages at the top of your screen.
  • Select the page you want to hide.
  • Uncheck the option to display the page in the navigation menu. If you haven’t linked to this page elsewhere on your website, visitors won’t be able to find it.
  • Once your page is ready, you can check this option again (and optionally link to it from other pages on your website). Don’t forget to publish your changes!

Tip: In the larger SiteBuilder packages, you can also restrict access to a page with Member Access. Only those with a password will be able to view the page.
