How do I use FTP with my SSH credentials? Port 22

You already know how to upload your website via FTP. This article will tell you how to use FTP with your SSH credentials, meaning you can use port 22.

All you need to do is download an FTP client, and put in the right Host, Username, Password, and Port.

  1. Log in your control panel
  2. Click on ‘My products’ > ‘Web hosting’.
  3. Click on the ‘Hosting details’ button for the website you want to connect to.
  4. Choose ‘SSH’ from the menu on the left.
  5. SSH makes it possible to establish a secure connection to your hosting package. By default, SSH is not activated. You can activate it by clicking on the slide button.

  6. Now open the connection settings in your FTP client. If you are using FileZilla it will look something like this:Open the connection settings
  7. This is what you need to do: For the HOST use your backup SSH host. Example: ssh000.webhosting.bebackup SSH host
  8. For the USERNAME use the SSH username. Example: yourdomainnamecomSSH username
  9. For the PASSWORD use the password of the main FTP user
  10. For the PORT just type in ’22’
